Ethyl Oleate Ip

Ethyl Oleate IP (Indian Pharmacopoeia) is an ester formed from oleic acid and ethanol. It is a colorless to pale yellow liquid with a mild, characteristic odor. Ethyl Oleate is soluble in alcohol and ether but only slightly soluble in water. It has a relatively low viscosity and is stable under normal storage conditions.
Ethyl Oleate is widely used in the pharmaceutical industry as a solvent and emulsifier, particularly in the preparation of injectable formulations. It is used to dissolve or suspend active ingredients in oily solutions for controlled-release medications. Ethyl Oleate is also employed in cosmetic formulations as a carrier oil, aiding the absorption of active ingredients through the skin.
