Polyvinyl Chloride SG5 (PVC SG5) is a general-purpose suspension-grade thermoplastic polymer made from vinyl chloride monomer. It does not have a fixed molecular formula, but the repeating unit is (C2H3Cl)n, and it has a high molecular weight polymer structure. It appears as a white, free-flowing powder. It is insoluble in water and resistant to many chemicals, acids, and alkalis. It is stable under normal conditions and becomes processable under heat.
